US war veterans given a new smile

US war veterans given a new smileAmerican war veterans are being given the chance to regain their smiles, it has been announced.

Pennsylvania cosmetic group Absolute Smile has launched a new initiative to help soldiers who suffered serious dental trauma while fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Absolute Smiles for Heroes Programme (ASHP) provides cosmetic dentistry free of charge.

"US soldiers fighting terror overseas should not struggle to receive quality cosmetic dental care," explained ASHP founders Drs Eric and Boris Friedman. "While our military personnel are fighting for freedom across the globe, we, as doctors, are honoured to be serving them absolute smiles at home."

The group claimed that many soldiers return home after fighting in the war and struggle to recover physically and mentally.

Dental health should receive just as much attention as other aspects of general health, it added.

The Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies has stated that a person's smile is the most "outstanding" feature of their face and therefore should be carefully maintained.ADNFCR-1374-ID-18558861-ADNFCR
