US Dental museum produces CD-ROM
America’s National Dental Museum has created a CD-ROM of its MouthPower education program.
The museum, who teamed-up with United Concordia Dental to create the CD-ROM, believes that the new digital program with help oral health professionals educate their patients about the benefits of keeping their mouths healthy.
The program follows a central character called Mouthie in laboratory. Youngsters can interact with the character and its environment – teaching them how to floss and brush while instructing them on what foods are best for their teeth and to steer clear of tobacco.
Jonathan Landers, dental museum director, said that the secret to a health smile was developing a good oral health routine and that MouthPower is a fun way teach children these skills.
The CD-ROM also includes bilingual lessons and activity sheets to teach kids good dental habits.
It will be used by 45,000 United Concordia dentists across the US but you can also request a copy of the program from the museum.
Karen Whitesel, Concordia professional relations vice president, called the program an “exciting tool” and said that it would help dentists teach young patient good oral health practices.
