University of Michigan hands out free dental care

The School Of Dentistry at the University of Michigan is giving away free dental health advice.

The university is hosting its annual Dental Health Day to help improve oral health standards of 150 people based in and around Ann Arbor.

Dental Health Day, which takes place on Saturday 14 November 2009, has been designed to increase awareness about local services and the importance of good oral hygiene.

It will give people that may not have insurance coverage or may not be able to afford dental care the opportunity to get their teeth examined.

Attendees of the day will receive a full examination, an oral cancer screening, dental x-rays and advice on maintaining a healthy smile. No treatments will be provided however.

If you want to participate you do not have to make an appointment but you will be served on a first-come-first-served basis.

The event will be held at 1011 N. University in Ann Arbor and will begin at 8:30am. Enter the School of Dentistry via North University Avenue. Parking will be available in the Fletcher Street.

If you would like additional information ring the university on  (734) 763-6933 or e-mail dentalhealthday@umich.edu.
