Two contractors have been short-listed to build Birmingham’s new dental hospital.

Galliford Try and Skanska have been revealed as the final two candidates for the £35 million project. The two firms were short-listed from a list of eleven contractors, which is rumoured to have included several leading companies, including Laing O’Rourke, Bam and Morgan Sindall.

Both firms will now work alongside a client team from Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust, before submitting their final proposals in the summer.

The new dental hospital will provide state of the art facilities for patients, professionals and student dentists. Birmingham Dental Hospital and School of Dentistry will enable students to learn and train in the best possible surroundings, while patients will have access to all the latest equipment and technology in a modern, purpose-built facility.
