Tributes have been pouring in for a dental nurse who died in her sleep. Elise Fitzpatrick, from Essex, was found dead by her mother who visited Elise’s flat after not hearing from her.

Elise, 24, was described as healthy and happy, and experts have attributed her tragic death to sudden adult death syndrome, a condition that kills 12 adults every week in the UK. Often branded a silent killer, sudden adult death syndrome affects the heart and appears to kill people who have previously never complained of cardiac problems.

Elise had only recently moved into her flat in Rayne when her mouther, Kelly, found her dead on the sofa. Having not heard from her daughter all day, she went round to check on her. Sadly, Kelly was unable to revive her daughter, who had died several hours before according to medical reports. After three months of investigations, Elise’s cause of death was recorded as sudden adult dental syndrome, which comes as no comfort for her family, as so little is known about the condition.

Wishing to learn more about the condition, Kelly decided to visit St George’s Hospital and she subsequently discovered that she had a genetic disorder known as Brugada syndrome, which affects the rhythm of the heartbeat. Kelly is now awaiting the results of tests to see if she could have passed the syndrome onto her daughter, Elise.

Elise was working at the Dental Studio in Colchester when she passed away, and her colleagues have paid tribute to a beautiful woman with a heart of gold.
