A toothless Finnish ice hockey player enjoyed his final Olympics.

Teemu Selanne, who lost two teeth when Finland beat the USA 4-3 in the winter Olympics in 2006, played in his last Olympics in 2010.

He and his team narrowly missed out on a spot in this tournament’s final after they were beaten by America 6-1 in the semi final on Friday 26 February 2010.

Selanne, 39, said that losing teeth was disappointing but claimed that it was worth it if it meant he got to play hockey at five Winter Olympics.

He added that he could always get new teeth.

The Finnish Flash beat the Olympic ice hockey points record after he reached 37 ahead of Valeri Kharlamov from Russia, Harry Watson from Canada and Vlastimil Bubnik from Czechoslovakia.
