Mike Tindall, former England rugby captain and husband of Zara Phillips, has revealed that he had orthodontic treatment prior to his wedding in July.

Tindall has revealed that he was wearing Invisalign invisible braces on his wedding day. The Invisalign system uses a series of clear, removable aligners to move the teeth into position and they are so discreet that nobody else can see them.

Tindall was treated by Dr Graham Tinkler, an expert in Invisalign treatment and he is quoted on the practice website, saying that he regrets refusing treatment during his teenage years. He was unable to have fixed braces during his playing career but Invisalign braces allowed him to have treatment while he was playing rugby and meant that the braces were not visible on his wedding photographs.

Tindall is not the only fan of Invisalign and in recent years, a growing number of adults have decided to opt for the treatment, which promises to straighten the teeth without anyone else even knowing that you are having treatment.

Invisalign works by wearing a series of clear aligners, with each aligner worn for two weeks and then replaced with the next in the series until treatment is complete. Many adults have been attracted by the fact that the braces are invisible to others. In the past, there was only the option of fixed metal braces but there is now a huge range of discreet and innovative solutions for patients with orthodontic problems.
