Thousands of new NHS dental places have been made available in Gloucestershire, after two new practices opened in the county.

A new practice has opened on Winchcombe Street in Cheltenham and a surgery has also opened in Cirencester. The new Cheltenham practice will be run by Rodericks Ltd and the Cirencester surgery will be managed by Genix Healthcare Ltd.

The new practices will create 17,600 new dental places and bring the number of dental practices in the county to 91.

Two thousand people have already put their names down to register with the new Cirencester practice and three full-time dentists will make up the team at the surgery.

Jan Stubbings, Chief Executive of NHS Gloucestershire, said that the opening of two new dental practices was part of an ongoing commitment to improve access to NHS services in the county. The trust is aware that dental care is a concern for many people and they are working to provide local people with services on their doorstep.

Shalin Mehra, managing director of Rodericks Ltd, said that the team was very proud to be representing and working alongside NHS Gloucestershire.
