Thornhill dental practice closes temporarily following fire

A dental practice in Thornhill was forced to close for part of the day on Wednesday 2nd May after a fire broke out in the morning.

Fire crews from Hightown and St Mary’s were called to Thornhill Dental Practice, which is located on Warburton Road, at approximately 8.50 am. A fire, which was caused by a thermostat fault, had broken out in the compressor room and there were fears that flames would spread to other parts of the building. Firefighters tackled the blaze quickly, and they had the situation under control after around 30 minutes.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue confirmed that crews from Hightown and St Mary’s had been involved in tackling a fire at the dental clinic on May 2nd and stated that nobody had been injured and damage was limited. After the building was made safe by firefighters, details of the incident were passed on to the owner of the property.

The practice was forced to close for part of the day, but is now open as normal, and patients have been reassured that appointments are going ahead as planned.
