The British Dental Association Wants An Investigation Into The GDC

Sample News Big

The British Dental Association wants the health secretary, Jeremy Hunt, to begin an investigation regarding the incompetence of the General Dental Council.

A proposed 64% increase in the ARF (annual retention fee) has led to dismay from the dental community along with the PSA (profession standards authority) giving the GDA a poor appraisal for its performance.

Mick Armstrong, the BDA’s chairman of the principal executive committee, wrote a letter to Jeremy Hunt highlighting the inefficiencies of the current GDC system.

In it he stated his deep concern that the General Dental Council was disconnected with the dental profession it sought to regulate and ignorant of the real dynamics involved in the dental field.
