A Teesside dental practice has been raising money to support children at a local hospice.

The Smile Spa in Stockton has donated money to Zoe’s Place, a children’s hospice in Normanby, every time a patient has had a tooth whitening treatment.

Dr Susan Andrews, clinical director of The Smile Spa, said that she is absolutely delighted to be able to donate money to such a worthwhile cause; so far the practice has raised £750 for Zoe’s Place, as well as additional funding for other local charities. Dr Andrews said that the team at the practice wanted to celebrate their 5th anniversary by raising money and giving to local charities.

The Smile Spa team has been fundraising for Hartlepool and District Hospice and St Theresa’s Hospice, as well as Zoe’s Place. Some of the team completed the Race for Life and other fundraising events and activities have taken place. The practice has also recently joined Bridge2Aid, a charity which funds dental training and provides equipment and dental care for people in Tanzania.

The money raised for Bridge2Aid will fund training for a new clinical officer, who will be able to treat thousands of people.
