Technology for Dental Case Presentations

Technology for Dental Case PresentationsIn Dental Products Review (August, 2008) Dr. Emmott covers some high-tech tools that should be used in the dental office for presenting cases to the patient. The following are recommended: 1) Digital cameras (both extraoral and intraoral); 2) computer software for image management, slide shows, and other multimedia presentations, so that the dentist can present, store, and  retrieve the patient’s pictures; 3) a monitor, either mounted on the dental chair or ceiling, or even a laptop computer; 4)  photo manipulation and enhancing software; 5) an inkjet printer, in order to generate images and high-quality prints for the patient to take with them (e.g., before pictures and proposed treatment photos); and, 6) several patient education videos.
