Swiss corporation Euroteknika make UK non-NHS dental implants affordable

Swiss corporation, Euroteknika’s, and their research and development department have introduced a new dental implant system called Universal +, otherwise known as the “Branemark System” after more than fifteen years research conducted by Professor Branemark in implantology.

The benefit of the Universal + implant system in the UK is that it is provided at an affordable price to patients who otherwise would travel overseas for this treatment if their need is not deemed viable through NHS dentistry. The NHS report that, “Dental implants and orthodontic treatment, such as braces, are available on the NHS, but the treatment will only be carried out if there is a medical need for it.” The NHS will provide dental treatment necessary to protect oral health and treatments include crowns, bridges and dentures, however the NHS recommends that treatment necessary for cosmetic purposes should be done privately.

The first dentist in the UK to offer this specific affordable implant treatment is Dr Simon Darfoor at his dental centres in Harley Street and Kent. Although a number of options both via the NHS and private care exist to replace missing teeth, such as a fixed bridge, crown and removable dentures, dental implants are in greater demand for their comfort and durability. Britons needing dental implants for cosmetic reasons can now do so affordably within the UK.
