Swift Dental Laboratory Acquires Acodent One Week After Administrators Called In

Sample News Big

A week after company directors confirmed the loss of 115 jobs at Lancashire dental firm, Acodent, there is positive news on the horizon. The firm has now been acquired by Swift Dental Laboratory, a lab based in Manchester.

Just last week, company directors revealed that the firm was closing, with the loss of 115 jobs; staff members told how they had been ushered into a meeting in the afternoon and informed that they were losing their jobs. After the announcement, administrators were brought in and the firm has now been taken over by Swift Dental Laboratory.

Acodent will continue to trade under the same name, but it will be part of the Swift Dental Group. Robert Adamson, from Mazars, the firm overseeing the administration process, said that the move was excellent news for all involved with Acodent. The administrators have been working with members of staff to sort out redundancy payments and Swift Dental has announced a number of vacancies, for which they will be recruiting in the near future.

Managing director of Swift Dental Group, Roy McGillivray, said that it was an honour to be asked by Mazars to be part of the assessment process and Swift is proud to be supporting the growth and development of a new company going forward.
