Super surgery answers Preston’s dental worries
Nine thousand dental patients from Preston could soon be getting the help they need as NHS bosses have confirmed that a new super surgery will be opening.
Lancashire Evening Post reports that there are currently 7,700 patients in the area who are registered with an NHS dentist.
However, It has been suggested that this figure could actually be much higher as many patients may not be registered with the Dental Access Database and others may have decided on private care as the only immediate source of treatment in the area.
The new super surgery is now set to open on Ringway in the spring of 2010 and patients are already being contacted to sign up. There have been suggestions that an interim service will be put in place until the super surgery is set up.
Janice Nicholson, head of dental commissioning, said she believes that the new clinic would greatly improve the accessibility of dental care in Preston
To register for access to NHS dental care call 01772 777397 or visit www.centrallancashire.nhs.uk/dental.
