Sunshine 'leads to increase in whitening'

This summer will see an increase in teeth whitening as Brits spend more on services to feel good in the sun, it has been claimed.

According to The White Teeth Company, when the sun is shining, people invest in products and services which improve their appearance such as cosmetic dentistry and sunbeds.

"Unless you have been living on Mars for the last five years or totally isolated yourself from the world of movies … and television, you've probably realised that more and more people are starting to whiten their teeth to achieve teeth like the stars," the company stated.

The firm added that advancements in cosmetic dentistry technology have made it easy for consumers to achieve that Hollywood smile quickly and cheaply.

It also claimed that teeth whitening can make people look younger and give them a boost of confidence.
