A pair of dental firms based in the North East have joined forces to provide local patients with state of the art orthodontic treatment. Sunderland-based Ashford Orthodontics has teamed up with Wearside Orthodontic Centre to offer treatment using the latest design technology.

Ashford Orthodontics will now work with the orthodontic centre to create virtual 3D models of the mouth, which will replace traditional putty impressions. The impressions are incredibly precise ad detailed and the process is a lot cleaner and more comfortable for patients.

Sean Thompson, director of Ashford Orthodontics, said it was a great feeling to join forces with another local business to provide a modern, effective service for patients in the area. The virtual models are not just more accurate, they can also be produced much faster and they don’t take up any space around the practice.

The nature of virtual technology enables the company to branch out in terms of the location of practices and dental centres with which it works. Now, the firm is able to reach out to clinics all over the country and abroad and the future is looking bright.

Principal dentist at Wearside Orthodontic Centre, Callum Rushforth, said the new partnership will change the way the practice works and ensure orthodontic patients have access to the best possible treatments and technology.
