A dentist from Stonehouse has been awarded a prestigious honour from a dental academy in Florida.

Dr Neil Harris has been presented with an award by the Dawson Academy. The honour was given in recognition of ten years of hard work, training and professional development and Dr Harris is now one of just nine dentists in the UK to receive recognition from the well-respected organisation.

Professor Peter Dawson and clinical director at the Dawson Academy, Dr John Cranham presented Dr Harris with the award at a conference which was held in Clearwater.

The Stonehouse dentist, who lives in nearby Thornbury, said that he was delighted to receive the honour, which recognises hundreds of hours of study and training. The academy is famed for its development programmes, and Dr Harris believes that the training he has undertaken will undoubtedly benefit his patients going forward. The development programme focuses on aesthetic dentistry and is known for the impetus on harmony between the patient and the dentist and the provision of long-lasting results.
