Step Forward In New Jersey Fluoridation Debate

Sample News Big

An Assembly committee has taken a step forward in the fluoride debate, after approving legislation to add fluoride to all water supplies in New Jersey.

Assemblyman Herb Conaway said that fluoridation is a “safe and effective way to prevent cavities in children and adults” and would eventually cut the costs of dental care in the state. Conaway added that there is a huge amount of evidence to support the benefits of fluoridated water.

The New Jersey Public Water Supply Fluoridation Act would mean that all water systems in the state of New Jersey would be fluoridated within 12 months of the bill coming into play.

Assembly Majority Leader Lou Greenwald backed Conaway’s statement, saying that municipal water fluoridation is the “single most effective public health measure to prevent tooth decay.” Studies show that fluoridation can reduce rates of tooth decay by 40 percent.

A survey carried out in 2008 revealed that only 13.6 percent of New Jersey residents were receiving fluoridated water, with the state ranked one of the lowest for access to fluoridated water supplies.

Fluoridation Opposition is Scientific, Respectable & Growing

More than 4,000 professionals (including 331 dentists and 443 MD’s) urge that fluoridation be stopped citing scientific evidence that ingesting fluoride is ineffective at reducing tooth decay and has serious health risks. See statement: http://www.fluoridealert.org/professionals-statement.aspx

I love how there is never any discussion about what types of fluoride are actually going into the water. We are not talking insoluble Calcium Fluoride here….we are talking the very soluble toxic byproducts of fluoride…Sodium Fluoride, Fluorosilicic Acid, etc…look them up…

Ever wonder why your toothpaste says if swallowed, call poison control? Sodium Fluoride is toxic. It is not meant to be ingested…especially in uncontrolled levels based on how much water an individual consumes. We are going to shower in this, we are going to water our State’s crops with this. Cavities? How about Cancer!? …..and if we want to stay on the “dental benefit” topic, look up “Dental Fluorosis”….caused directly from fluoride.
