"Spread the cost"of cosmetic dentistry

People looking for cosmetic dental treatments at a private clinic would do well to try and spread the cost, it has been claimed. Leigh Greenwood, head of media at the British Dental Health Foundation, advised: "Dental plans, health plans, maintenance schemes and capitation plans are available and can help make dental care more affordable." However, Ms Greenwood claimed that NHS dentists are available and that patients should always try and see a professional for free. Public and private sector healthcare have been at the forefront of media debate recently, with figures revealing that younger dentists are shunning the NHS in favour of cosmetic dentistry. Ben Atkins, a 32-year-old dentist, has stated that patients are demanding more and more types of treatments and are willing to pay extra for white fillings for example. He claimed that they have the right to opt for cosmetic dentistry over the NHS."ADNFCR-1374-ID-18506982-ADNFCR" More General stories
