Smiles suggest personality, expert claims
A person displays their personality through their smile, according to one body language expert.
Reported by Florida Today, Patti Wood has been travelling to different cities as part of the Smile Personality Analysis project in order to examine how different personalities are displayed through a smile.
Ms Wood claims there are over 50 types of smiles but that smile personalities can be narrowed down to four categories – the Influences, the Driver, the Analyser and the Supporter.
A clear indicator of a fake smile are the eyes, she added, claiming clues to a real smile are from the eye up.
When asked her opinion about smiles, one student told the news provider: "I think it says everything. It tells your mood … I always look at people’s teeth."
A survey by Mintel and the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry found that women believe a nice smile is a clear sign of a warm personality, whereas men think it will lead to a more successful life.
