Smile 'most distinct feature'
The Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies claims that someone's smile is the first thing others notice and often defines their perception of them.
"For this reason, many people try to make their smiles the best they can be and keep their mouths and teeth as healthy as possible," stated the organisation.
"But today's cosmetic dentists can offer you much more in the way of improving your smile," it added.
Along with teeth whitening and tooth shaping, cosmetic dentists can offer porcelain veneers to reshape, straighten or brighten teeth and dental bonding which improves gaps between teeth or chips and cracks on their surface.
Cosmetic dentists have all been educated in not only dental health, but the art and science of dental beauty, the organisation explained.
Statistics by the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry found that 26 percent of the UK has had cosmetic dental treatment.
