Six hundred dentists in 24-hour marathon
Six hundred dentists have signed up to take part in a 24-hour dental marathon in India.
India Gazette reported that the oral care marathon would begin next week and will enable offer free dental checks to Mumbaikars and put the city on the international stage.
The scheme, known as 'Mumbai Smiles', will run from 11am on 9 October to 11am the next day as part of the World Dental Show.
Participants in Mumbai Smiles will receive advice from experts and will be eligible to receive a further two free check-ups over the next year.
More than 20,000 members are expected to attend this year’s World Dental Show, which is part of an initiative by the Indian Dental Association and chewing gum manufacturer Wrigley's.
It aims to reinforce the government's plan of oral health for all by 2020.
