Shropshire Dental Entrepreneur takes to the Skies to Combine Business and Pleasure

Sample News Big

A dental entrepreneur from Shropshire has adopted a novel approach to ensuring the safe delivery of his products. Jason Buglass, owner of Implantium, is combining business and pleasure by flying himself to meetings in a company light aircraft.

Buglass founded Implantium, a dental supplies company based in Shrewsbury, in 2008. He is a keen pilot and has had a private licence since 1998 and believed it to be a logical step to invest in a company plane so that he could fly himself to business meetings in the UK and beyond.

Buglass located the perfect aircraft, but there was one problem: the plane was in the USA, meaning that he would have to fly it back across the Atlantic, a long journey that involved numerous fuelling stops and some spectacular scenery. Buglass enlisted the assistance of experienced pilot, David Plange, for the four-day crossing, which involved stops in Maine, Canada, Greenland, Iceland and Wick, Scotland. The crew nearly didn’t make the fuelling stop in Keflavic, Iceland, with temperatures dropping to minus 26 and no land within100 miles. However, the plane eventually made it and the pair was very glad to be on dry land.

Now the plane has successfully completed the trip home, it is being used for slightly less exhilarating adventures, providing Jason Buglass with a speedy means of travelling around the UK and Europe for Implantium business meetings.
