Rugeley dentist finds novel way to entertain nervous patients with ceiling-mounted Where’s Wally? Scene

A dentist from Rugeley has come up with a novel solution to help distract and relax nervous patients. Michael Mannion, from mydentist, has fitted a giant Where’s Wally scene on the ceiling of his treatment room to keep patients entertained while they’re in the dental chair.

The image, which is called ‘Fairground’, was recently revealed by Mr Mannion, and he is hoping that it will make the experience of having dental treatment more fun and relaxing for both adults and children. Many people feel anxious about going to the dentist, and this gives them something to occupy their thoughts while the dentist is at work.

Mr Mannion said that he had been inspired by seeing dental offices fitted with TVs and images on the ceiling. The Where’s Wally idea was probably initially aimed at children, but Mannion claimed that he would enjoy trying to solve the puzzle if he found himself in a situation where the shoe was on the other foot, and assumed that fellow adults would feel the same.
