The reopening of an NHS dental surgery in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, has brought relief to thousands of people.

Around 7,000 patients were facing an uncertain future when the mydentist clinic on the town’s High Street closed its doors in March.  After fearing that they would have to travel to Cheltenham or Gloucester to see an NHS dentist, local residents were delighted to hear that Oasis Dental Care would be taking over the former mydentist clinic.

The surgery was closed on the 31st March, but NHS England reacted quickly, confirming shortly afterwards that Oasis Dental Care would open in the town, providing patients who had been on the mydentist register with NHS treatment on their doorstep.

Since taking over the NHS contract, the surgery has been updated, and Oasis is inviting new patients to register, as well as encouraging those who were previously registered with mydentist to get in touch to arrange appointments. The clinic also provides private dental services.

Practice manager, Karen Wood, said that everyone is working tirelessly to ensure that local patients have access to first-class services. The clinic has been updated and rebranded, and the team is looking forward to getting to know new patients and reconnecting with existing patients. The surgery will be equipped with the latest technology, and a wide range of services including general dentistry and cosmetic treatments, will be available.
