Red wine is good for your teeth
Boffins from Italy are suggesting that red wine is actually good for your teeth.
Many people believe that red wine stains your teeth and gums but a new study claims that it actually keeps your teeth clean.
The research, conducted by scientists at Pavia University, found that proanthocyanidins, which can be found in many plants and are present in red wines, actually remove some harmful bacterias from teeth.
Red wine has had other medicinal associations including improving neurological function and cardiovascular health.
Now the Pavia team believe that helpful proanthocyanidins could be separated from red wines and used to improve oral health
Just drinking red wine wouldn’t improve your oral health as it also has sugars in it.
The scientists also discovered that non-alcoholic red wines work just as well as their gregarious cousins.
In 2006 Canadian researchers found that red wines could also improve gum health as they also contain Polyphenols, which boost your gums immune systems.
