Held at the Intercontinental Hotel in London this year, the national Private Dentistry Awards saw the largest turnout in the history of the awards. The competition was as tough as always and consisted of 13 different award categories.

The winners of the 13 categories were as follows:

Most Attractive Practice – Ollie & Darsh, a swish looking boutique style dental practice set in the heart of Liverpool.

Best Specialist Referral Practice – EndoCare – a specialist endodontic referral practice with 3 branches in and around London.

Most Improved Practice – this award went to Gentle Dental, who demonstrated considerable changes and improvements in all aspects of their business.

Best Dental Laboratory – this award went to Knight Dental Laboratory who have won this award several times in the past, which confirms that they continue to excel.

Private Dentist of the Year – This award went to international facial aesthetics instructor and leading cosmetic dentist Dr Bob Khanna from Dr BK in Reading.

Best Employer – this was awarded to Jacqueline Fergus and George Glover in Aberdeen who have invested considerable time and effort in developing the skills of their team, including postgraduate courses all over the world.

Best Marketing – this award was snapped up by Dr Pav Khaira of Red Sky dental spa who creatively decorated his car to advertise his dental practice.

Best Dental Team – this was awarded to Cahill Dental Care Centre, a dental practice in Bolton that demonstrated a cohesive dental team structure to their business.

Best Patient Care – this award went to Toothbeary Practice in Richmond, which is a children’s dental practice with an unforgettable teddy bear Mascot!

Most Innovative Practice – this award went to Julian Perry Advanced Dental Solutions, who came up with the idea of developing a mobile CT scanner in a van to benefit dentists in the local area that cannot afford an on-site CT scanner. Great idea that was thought up after a bottle of wine!

Best community or charity project – this went to El-Nashar Dental Care for their extensive dedication to charity work, in particular with Bridge2Aid.

Best New Practice – this was awarded to the Brighton Implant clinic headed up by Dr Bruno De Silva.

The outstanding individual award – went to Amanda Wood for her outstanding contributions in the field of dentistry.

UK practice of the Year – the most sought after award, UK practice of the year was awarded to Dr Mike Heads’ practice in Stockton On Tees The Dental Healthcare Centre and Cleveland Cosmetic and Dental Implant Clinic, ending the night with a bang!
