PR chief gives in to cosmetic dentistry?
The Scotsman states that ScottishPower's former head of communications Colin McSeveny has had his teeth whitened after relocating to the big smoke.
Although this in itself is not unusual, sources have raised concerns that this new habit does not fit in with McSeveny's former hard man image.
"I worked with him for six years and can't remember him even going to the dentist, never mind flossing," one source said. "Obviously the pressure to conform in the highly polished ultra-groomed world of City PR is getting to him."
McSeveny, who has previously claimed to have had a family so that he never has to carry house keys, once mocked a male colleague for using hair gel.
The Liverpool Daily Post recently reported on the emerging trend of businessmen seeking cosmetic dentistry treatments.
Dentist Ian Buckle told the newspaper that executives are catching on to the fact that a nice smile may win them more favour in the boardroom.
