A dental nursing course, offered by Plymouth University, has achieved a 100% success rate for the third consecutive year.

Staff members and students at the university are celebrating after the entire class passed the National Diploma in Dental Nursing. This was the third year in a row that the school attained a perfect record.

The two year dental nursing course is offered by Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry, which provides students with clinical and practical training, as well as theoretical knowledge. The course is accredited by the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses and graduates are able to register with the General Dental Council.

Dental nursing students train alongside students undertaking the Bachelor of Dentistry course. They are able to gain valuable practical experience providing dental care to patients in the South West as part of a partnership with the NHS.

Erika Jones, a lecturer in dental nursing at the university, said that it is a great achievement, especially as this is the third year that the school can boast a 100% success rate. She congratulated the students and said that their hard work and dedication had paid off.

The students will remain in their training contracts at the university until March 2014.
