Plans submitted to create new dental centre in Cerwen

Plans to expand NHS dental services in Cerwen have been submitted to the local health board.

Officials are hoping to have proposals to spend £1.5 million creating a permanent dental clinic and improved GP services at Corwen Health Centre approved. If the plans are given the thumbs up by members of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, mobile dental clinics located at the centre would be replaced by a permanent dental surgery and a wider range of GP services would be made available.

The board is set to meet in the coming days and if the proposals are given the green light, it is anticipated that work would start this autumn with a view to completing the project by summer next year.

Officials believe that replacing the two mobile dental units with a permanent dental facility would increase capacity by 230 patients per month.
