Plans Submitted to Convert Southampton Dental Surgery into Multi-Occupant Residency

Plans to convert a former dental surgery in Southampton into a multi-occupant residency have been submitted to the council.

The premises, which are located on The Avenue, have been vacant since the former dental business closed last year and no one has come forward with commercial propositions for the building since. Now, Sharad Patel has applied to convert the former surgery into a large home, which will provide accommodation for multiple occupants.

Talking about his proposition, Mr Patel said his vision was to create a number of modern and stylish rooms with shared facilities for young professionals. All the rooms would be fully furnished and the target market would be young working people who are perhaps saving up for a deposit to buy, people who have recently moved into the area and those looking to benefit from the cheaper living costs associated with sharing with others.

The application has now been submitted to planning officers at Southampton City Council and a decision is expected by the 22nd October.
