Plans to convert a bungalow into an orthodontic practice in Poole have been formally submitted to the local council.

The proposals, which have been compiled by Pure Town Planning, include plans to turn a bungalow on Lower Blandford Road into an orthodontic clinic. If the plans are given the green light, two dentists working at the practice will treat up to 40 patients per day. If the proposals are approved, this will be the second practice on the road, as Ridgeway Dental Practice is also located on Lower Blandford Road. In addition to the two dentists, there will be a further three members of staff. Planned opening hours run from 8.30am until 5.30pm on weekdays.

The existing structure features two bedrooms, a conservatory and a garage. The proposals include plans to demolish part of the garage and create a spacious waiting room, two treatment rooms, toilets, a reception area and a staff room. The exterior of the building will not be altered.

A spokesperson for Pure Town Planning said that the move would create a “community-based facility in a highly sustainable location with excellent links to public transport and walking and cycling routes.” Street parking is available, but the surgery will also offer a small secure car park. The statement suggests that parking should not be an issue for local residents.
