Peninsula Dental School Dean Named ‘Most Influential Women in Dentistry’

The Dean of Peninsula Dental School, Professor Elizabeth Kay, has been received the title of most influential woman in dentistry.

Professor Kay came fourth overall in the Dentistry Top 50 League Table, which lists the most influential people in the dental profession. Previously, the highest position held by a woman was 15th.

Professor Elizabeth Kay became the Foundation Dean of the Peninsula Dental School in May 2006 and she has also worked as a scientific adviser to the British Dental Association and is a chairman of trustees for the Shirley Glasstone Hughes Trust Fund. Before joining the Peninsula Dental School, Kay was Professor of Dental Health Services Research at the University of Manchester.

Professor Kay has worked on over 100 scientific papers and journals. She said that she was “thoroughly amazed” when she heard the news that she was ranked 4th in the league table. Kay added that it was not just positive news for her, but also for the school, as it reflects the achievements of Peninsula in the field of dental education.
