NHS Tayside is urging local residents to register with dentists at a new multi-million pound dental centre in Perth.

The brand new, state of the art Broxden Dental Centre, has been open since November but there are still hundreds of places available for local NHS dental patients. The centre cost 7.6 million pounds and contains 20 separate surgeries, as well as a laboratory, training rooms and offices. The centre also provides emergency dental care, as well as a large range of dental treatments.

The centre was built to provide dental care for patients in Perth and Kinross and will eventually cater for around 7,000 patients. Representatives from NHS Tayside say that the new centre is an important development for the area; the trust is committed to providing excellent standards of dental care for patients, as well as providing training facilities for future dentists and encouraging qualified dentists to stay in the area.

Final year students from dental schools in Glasgow and Dundee will work at the centre under the supervision of qualified dentists; they will be able to provide dental treatment free of charge.

Patients who are interested in registering at the centre are advised to contact NHS Tayside or the centre directly.
