New York Dentist Develops New Toothbrush to Improve Cleaning

A dentist from New York has developed a new toothbrush to help people improve the way they clean their teeth and gums.

Jack Gruber decided to develop his own product after seeing countless patients missing key areas of the mouth and damaging their teeth and gums by brushing too hard.

The PeriClean uses a pad, rather than a brush. According to Jack Gruber, the pad is not completely soft and provides mild friction to remove bacteria and food particles from the teeth, without damaging the enamel or the gums with abrasive bristles.

Gruber said that the brush has been developed to target early build up of plaque and remove food particles and bacteria from the surfaces of the teeth without causing any damage to the protective enamel surfaces of the teeth.

Gruber has developed the toothbrush in conjunction with Ed Kozloski, an engineer. It remains to be seen how successful the brush will be but the design team is confident that the PeriClean brush will remove plaque and prevent decay while protecting the teeth and gums and reducing the risk of gum recession.
