New dental clinic opens as Wiltshire hospital undergoes extensive renovation

A new dental clinic has opened as part of an extensive renovation and expansion programme at Devizes Hospital in Wiltshire.

Hospital bosses said that the renovation has been well-received by members of staff and patients. The hospital now boasts two new consulting rooms, a dental surgery and a state of the art decontamination centre. There are also training facilities and space for group sessions and conferences. Services provided by the Family Health Centre in Devizes moved to the hospital at the end of May.

The hospital is run by the Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Swindon and Dawn Hales, the assistant manager, said that the expansion has been very positive for patients and staff, as the old Family Health Centre simply wasn’t big enough to offer the services needed by local people. The new facility is much larger and it allows bosses more flexibility when it comes to how services are provided at the hospital.

The opening of a new dental surgery will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the local community, as more people will be able to access dental services on their doorstep.
