New Corwen Health Centre to Feature State of the Art Dental Suite

A new health centre in Corwen will feature a state of the art dental suite, it has been confirmed.

The centre, which will cost £1.25 million to build, is due to open in 2018 and will replace a mobile dental service. The facility will also house additional GP treatment rooms and mental health services.

Currently, patients in the local area depend on a mobile dental service and news of the new permanent facility has been welcomed by Mabon ap Gwynfor from Plaid Cymru. Many people find it hard to get an appointment with a dentist at the moment and the new facility should make a very positive difference to local dental patients.

The announcement comes just three years after local residents, councillors and MPs fought to save the mobile service, after the health board revealed plans to scrap it. Mabon was incredibly pleased that the mobile unit remained and now he has praised the board for listening to the concerns of local people and investing in a permanent unit.

The board is currently working on plans for the development and it is hoped that it will open its doors to the public at the beginning of 2018.
