Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health Gets the Go Ahead

The Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health has been granted a $26 million bond, to build and equip a new building on the university campus at Kirksville.

The building will cover an area of 61,000 square feet and will be two storeys high. It will also be a joint building for both dental and medical students.

Speaking with reporters, Dr. Jack Magruder, President of A.T. Still University in Missouri said: “It is a beautifully designed building that will be the heart of this campus and when people drive by and take a look they are going to be totally impressed with the beauty of this building and when they go on the inside they will be very impressed with the way in which it’s laid out for student learning.”

He added: “We are pleased about that, but I’ve been involved in several projects and this is going to be the most beautiful building in this community.”

The department already has buildings that house the dental college, but they are now looking their age. What’s more, the new building will be fitted with up to date technology once the work has finished.

Construction is expected to start during the spring of 2012. The first students are expected the following year.
