The Oklahoma Mission of Mercy has confirmed that the next dental clinic will take place on the 7th and 8th February at Chisholm Trail Expo Center. This will be the 5th clinic in Oklahoma.

Dr Tim Fagan, president of the Oklahoma Dental Association, said that around 87 per cent of people who use the clinics do not have dental insurance.

The next mobile Mission of Mercy Clinic will offer 31 dental centres and 130 dental chairs and organisers are hoping to help hundreds of people. The doors will open at 4am and dentists are expecting crowds to gather much earlier in preparation for registration.

Dr Fagan said that since the first clinic, 7,500 people have benefited from free dental care and the charity has undoubtedly made a massive difference to the people of Oklahoma.

Organisers of the event are expecting around 1,000 people per day at the clinic and they are appealing for general volunteers to help out, including translators, parking assistants and front of house.

Dr Fagan has also appealed for donations to support the clinic. Each clinic costs around $150,000 to run and the next clinic is short by around $8,000.
