Mischa Barton blames wisdom teeth for breakdown
Mischa Barton has attributed her recent “medical issues” to a gruesome dental operation according to gossip columns around the world.
The former OC star is reported to have blamed a huge amount pain that she suffered from an operation to remove her wisdom teeth as the cause for her confinement in a psychiatric hospital and supposed mental crisis.
In July 2009 the 24-year-old, who was voted the one of the sexist woman in the world by FHM readers in 2009, was escorted from her house by police due to “medical issues” after she had contacted them via phone.
Barton’s molar misery may have also contributed to her recent involuntary psychiatric detention shortly after this incident but the teen idol was let out within days of checking into the clinic.
The actress is currently in New York filming for her latest project The Beautiful Life and now seems to be getting herself back on track.
However, many gossip sites doubt the plausibility of Barton’s wisdom teeth claims, as there have been reports that suggest the actress has had drug problems in the past.
According to gossip website Mr Paparazzi (MP), Barton, when talking about her dental operation, said: “I had to get through it without proper painkillers because I couldn’t take those during work. So it’s been a nightmare.”
MP also reported that Barton acknowledged being “completely stressed out” before her stay in the clinic when she said: “I was down in the dumps about everything there for a while.
“Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom about things and have to get the most stressed out just to feel better again.
“Now I feel really in control.”
