A man was left with severe dental injuries following a pub brawl at the Shoulder of Mutton pub in Easington Village, near Sunderland.

The man, who is in his twenties, suffered a broken jaw following an attack outside the pub last Friday. He also had two of his front teeth knocked out and may require more teeth removing in the future.

Police have appealed for information about the incident, which is said to have taken place at 11:30 pm in the foyer section of the pub on Low Row and are particularly keen to talk to people who helped the man and gave his first aid. A number of people were seen on CCTV at the scene.

The man, from Easington Colley, spent three days in hospital and he will need a series of dental assessments and treatment in the coming months.

Two men from the Sunderland area have been arrested and bailed in connection with the attack but police are eager for anyone with any information to come forward. If you know anything about the incident, you are advised to contact Detective Constable John Woodhall, from Peterlee CID.
