Luton Schoolchildren All Smiles After Visit From Dental Charity

Sample News Big

Schoolchildren in Luton are all smiles after a visit from representatives from the charity, the Dental Wellness Trust.

More than 140 children from Pirton Hill Primary School took part in educational, informative and fun sessions organised by the charity; the children were divided into smaller groups and they took part in games and activities, which were designed to teach them about healthy eating, oral hygiene and the importance of dental visits.

Children were also invited to design a poster and prizes were given out to the best efforts.

The Dental Wellness Trust was visiting the school as part of the Mega Molars scheme, which aims to provide children with educational programmes to help them learn about oral health and encourage them to adopt good habits. The charity was established to target children in need and those living in deprived areas; it also provides advice and support for elderly people.

The kids at Pirton Hill Primary School had a great day learning about the anatomy of teeth, the importance of brushing and which foods and drinks they should eat and which to avoid. They also learned about what happens when you go and see a dentist, which will hopefully help them to feel comfortable and reduce anxiety when they next have a dental appointment.
