Liverpool dentist offers to treat assault victim for free
A kind dentist from Liverpool has offered to treat a woman who was assaulted free of charge. Debbie McGovern, from Liverpool Dental Spa, contacted 21-year old Jessica Ennery, after seeing her story in the local paper. Jessica was attacked in November and she was left needing thousands of pounds’ worth of dental treatment.
Jessica set up a crowdfunding page to raise money to pay for new dental implants after the incident, which left her with three broken teeth. She was aiming to raise £1,000 towards treatment costs of £5,000, but her story was spotted by Debbie, and the generous dentist has reached out to Jessica and offered to treat her free of charge. Jessica was punched in an unprovoked attack and she fell to the floor, hitting her head on the kerb and sustaining serious injuries in the process.
Debbie and her husband, fellow dentist, Marius McGovern contacted Jessica through Facebook, and she recently shared the news that she’d be getting a brand new smile on her page. She said she was delighted and incredibly grateful, and after a very stressful and upsetting few months, it seemed like things were finally starting to go her way.
In light of the offer, Jessica has now refunded any donations she received through her fundraising page, and she is now looking forward to starting treatment at Liverpool Dental Spa.
