Kerry Katona shares dental woes with followers after undergoing wisdom tooth removal
Former Atomic Kitten member and reality TV star, Kerry Katona has shared her dental woes with thousands of followers on social media after undergoing a procedure to remove her wisdom teeth.
The former singer and Queen of the Jungle used her Twitter profile to share news of the operation with her followers. Kerry tweeted that she was in a lot of pain and was tired, especially as her youngest daughter, DJ, wouldn’t sleep.
Earlier in the day, Kerry appeared much happier, as she posed for photographs at a hair salon and celebrated her new extensions. Later that day, her mood had clearly changed, as she told followers about having her back teeth taken out and complained of being in agony.
Kerry is a regular on social media, and she posts updates to let her fans know what she’s up to almost every day. When she wrote about her dental dramas, hundreds of followers messaged back offering their support and well wishes.
Wisdom tooth removal is a commonly performed procedure, which is usually recommended when there is insufficient space in the jaw for the third molars, the wisdom teeth, to develop normally. When there’s no space left, the teeth can start to grow at an angle and push against the neighbouring teeth. This is known as impaction. Impacted wisdom teeth are usually painful, and the best course of action is extraction. Wisdom tooth removal can be carried out under local or general anaesthetic or under sedation.
