Jordan a 'popular cosmetic dentistry destination'

There are an increasing number of people travelling to Jordan to have cosmetic dentistry operations, reports the Arabian Business magazine.

According to Dr Munir Amro, director of the Esthetic Dental Centre in Jordan, patients come to the Middle Eastern country to take advantage of lower priced treatments and high quality procedures.

People from the Gulf and the US are typical patients, he added, explaining that they often book treatment and flights over the internet.

However, Dubai dentist Katherine Trelles, of Villa Fortuny clinic, said that she has been "unimpressed" by Jordan's standard of dental work and that as patients often can not afford to return to repair any problems they might have.

"We have to rectify those problems and it's not fair on us either, because we're given the job almost done and we have to rectify it," she added.

The British Dental Health Foundation advises that cosmetic dentistry clinics vary in price around the UK anda good deal can often be found without travelling abroad.
