Johnny Rotten 'fixed his teeth'
According to the Daily Telegraph, the 52-year-old rocker sought the help of a Los Angeles-based cosmetic dentist to improve his smile.
However, the singer, real name John Lydon, has claimed that it is more of a health matter than vanity.
"All those rotten teeth were seriously beginning to corrupt my system," he said.
The newspaper stated that his decision is evidence of a growing trend of Brits seeking cosmetic dentistry.
It claimed that whereas it used to be just Americans who focused on the aesthetics of their smile, now British people are just as interested in the upkeep of their teeth.
"Today, teeth compete with property prices as a national obsession," the publication reported.
Anna Friel, Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan are all British stars who have sought cosmetic dentistry since working in the US.
