Model Jodie Kidd has teamed up with the Big Brush Up dental campaign to promote healthy smiles for children.

The model and mum of 5-year old Indio, has lent her support to the campaign, which is run by Denplan in association with Simplyhealth Professionals. Jodie has long been a supporter of oral health campaigns and she is eager to try and do her bit to encourage parents and children to look after her teeth.

As a model, Jodie understands the importance of an attractive, healthy smile, and she has tried to encourage Indio to adopt good habits from a very early age. She recalls cleaning his very first tooth, and has been taking him along to the clinic with her for routine checks since he was a baby. Indio is allowed sweets and chocolates because Jodie doesn’t want to deprive him in any way, but she stresses that these are treats and he has a very healthy and balanced diet.

The Big Brush Up campaign is designed to provide parents with helpful information, tips and advice to improve their child’s oral health. Leaflets, websites and posters contain information about encouraging children to brush twice-daily, teaching kids the right brushing technique and getting children used to going to the dentist. There is also advice available for those parents who struggle to get their child to the dentist as a result of fear or anxiety.
