Jersey Shore dentist helps kids with cancer
A Jersey Shore Dentist has donated more than $3,000 to a child cancer charity.
Dr Ron Rotem, who practices in Toms River and is a member of the Crown Council, gave $3550 to Ocean of Love to help the families of young cancer sufferers.
Ocean of Love provides funding for non-medical expenses to the families of children with cancer. They contribute towards things like mortgages, transport, food, utilities and babysitting.
Dr Rotem earned the money by setting aside 100% of his fees for whitening procedures during the annual Smiles for Life Campaign.
Linda Gillick, Ocean of Love representative, said that the charity was very grateful for all the fundraising Dr Rotem had done on its behalf.
She also claimed that he was always there for the kids and called him “a keeper”.
Dr Rotem thanked all the people who had teeth whitening procedures during Smiles for Life.
He said that they were all happy to be doing something for charity.
Since 1998 Smiles for Life, which is the charitable side of the Crown Council, has donated more than $15million to kid’s charities.
