"Instant gratification"with cosmetic dentistry

The cosmetic dentistry industry is improving every year at an "amazing rate", it has been claimed.

US dentist Glenn Norton explained to the Evansville Courier & Press that the satisfaction he feels following a complete smile makeover of one of his patients is second to none.

"Its instant gratification for both of us," he claimed. "They hug you. They bring you cookies. They cry when you show them the mirror."

Sue Roser, a patient of Mr Norton's, said that despite having a life-long fear of the dentist, she overcame her phobia and had a smile makeover.

After being treated with composite resin bonding, Ms Roser explained how pleased she was with the end result.

"I thought it looked great," she told the newspaper, adding that Mr Norton helped her discuss her fears.

Cosmetic dentistry has been at the forefront of the news recently, with research by the NHS Information Centre citing it as the reason that many younger dentists are turning their back on public healthcare.ADNFCR-1374-ID-18502852-ADNFCR
